Grove and the Apple Museum Tasmania
We pulled into an apple museum and first thoughts were “how boring” BUT was pleasantly surprised once inside. We were greeted by the owner who gave a quick but informartive talk on APPLES .The fruit was introduced into Tasmania by the British and now there are literally 1000s of different varieties!! He went on to give a demonstration on an automatic apple peeler (used in the making of dried fruit/canned apples and of course my favourite use CIDER.Entry fee was a nominal $4.50 and a large museum was very interesting The wooden boxes reminded me of days gone by when we collected these from the local corner shop to use as firewood (then col was put on top to create the common indoor house fires in the 50/60s) The souvenir shop was very good and items were not very expensive !! Wel worth a visit if in this area
