Travelling to the Bungle Bungles
Travel is extremely difficult as the road is very hazardous & dangerous We went thru a 3 foot deep hollow filled with water, the track road is full of rocks at times,is very sandy at times, and at ALL times a permanent hard ripple 2 to 6 inches in height !! every few kilometres HUGE tyres with chains attached are placed strategically SO that some buses will ‘hook’ them to the rear of the bus and drag the tyre behind for a short time in order to try and reduce the ripples !! Dust created by vehicles using the road is extreme & can reduce visibility for following vehicles to zero !! Most drivers are courteous when approaching and will slow down to limit the amount of dust thrown up Sadly there is always the odd hoon !

The drive out to the Bungles was 54 Km drive ona track that can only be used by 4 WD Once in the Bungle district the scenery was brilliant The Temp reached 38 apparently here in Warmun was the hottest in WA All fears of the heat vanished when sighting these magnificent structures The orange & black horizontal layers give the impression of giant beehives. The other travellers were great company Bruce the Driver and guide was very funny with his humorous anecdotes & jokes Since i was a lad at Gramme school I have wanted to see this incredible structure Today that dream was realized and is even better than I imagined Fantastic day began at 5.30am and ended 7.30PM A well worth trip highly recommended more action pics to follow These a quick upload
