Waikerie & Life Style Village with an overnight at Burra
Waikerie is a smallish but nice town and our reason for a visit was due to an advert re Retirement villages that cater for Motor homes.The homes are impressive BUT are also on a popular camp-site & after a showing around and weighing up the pros n cons we decided it is NOT the place for us We have other places to look at in Adelaide the rationale of living in this area is due to it being central to Eastern/Western states We also stopped at Burra where apparently scenes from Breaker Morant were filmed (twas the 30th anniversary of the film recently Bryan Brown N Jack Thompson (Stars of the movie)were invited to the celebrations but refused because they wanted appearance money ! the town has a lovely old pub & we used the footbridge from the camp-site to get there Tomorrow we head off to LOXTON ( how unique a LUXTON in LOXTON good title for a movie!!) and the place sounds interesting
