Day One on the Road to Goomeri
Putting the Slideon onto the truck was manoeuvred very quickly ( very proud of meself !) We set off from home around 1pm arriving 3 hours later into the already packed camper grounds.First Nights entertainment was provided by a lady singer in the Bowling Club and she was actually a top class singer (Cathy Drummond) getting lots of the grey nomads up and dancing ( we oldies know how to enjoy ourselves!) We met one old gent probably in his 80s who had dyed his hair ORANGE ! in celebration of the upcoming events on Sunday next (I,m tempted!) The meal costing $15 was top class ( Lasagne & Trimmings) and we enjoyed the company of Urangan couple Kingsley & Ann both retired. People ( as usual with Nomads) are very friendly.Night time was ccccccold ! and we were awoken by the FIRE Alarm going off at around 2.30 am !! TheHeater had automatically come on and we consequently had to turn the gas off which in turn stopped our fridge from working ( oh NO! Warm Beer) we settled in for the night after that little episode and Annie will sort it out with the Supplier on Monday .All of this is to make sure our BIG trip across the Nulabor will be a pleasant and Safe one come August

The trip ended in a bit of a disaster !! See last blog in the next few days !!!
